Four going on I don't know what....

Pey has decided the past two days to have a "growing up" meltdown. I am sure it has to do with the fact that lil man went home this week, and she considered him her brother.

She woke me up yesterday, telling me that she never wanted to grow up, she didn't want to get as tall as the ceiling, and she wanted to stay four forever so she didn't have to leave us.

After hours of trying to reassure her that we are never giving her away, which I have to say was not working as she was asking me to pray to Heavenly Father that she wouldn't get any bigger, I decided to tried the birthday subject.

Me: Pey if you stay four forever you will never have any more birthdays.
Pey: But I want presents
Me: Then you have to have birthdays and you will have to turn five, but not for a long time
Pey: I don't want the presents then, I want to stay four.

I am ready to pull my hair out. She has gone on for two days about this, even though we tell her that she is not going anywhere and we love her. I might have to find her a grief support group for kids loosing their foster siblings.
She is such a princess

Is He Just Not Delish...

It has been years since we have had some family pictures taken. Thanks to our amazing and wonderful friend Michelle, she took some yesterday of all of us before lil man goes home tomorrow. (Might at the ones of him tomorrow, as he won't be in the system anymore.)

Now We Are Five

Wednesday March 31, we received a call from placement desk asking if we would be willing to take a 14 month old boy who was very active.

I asked some questions about the history of this little guy and then ran upstairs to
ask what Scott thought. He had worked all night and had been asleep for about four hours, when I asked him if he was okay with it, I got a mumbled yes from him, so of course I said yes.

We received a call about an hour later from placement desk, saying that the little guy would be ready to pick up around 11:30am and to come to the office to get him. Poor Scott, I made him get up as I figured out really quickly, there was no way I w
ould be able to carry two 14 month old toddlers and they said he was more attached to men. (Yes our other little guy is 14 months as well.)

Me, being the naive mom of raising boys, thought all little guys were going to be perfect like our first little guy. I quickly found out that boys are completely different.
When they said he was very active, they were not kidding, there was no way of getting that boy to stay still. I also quickly found out that they were wrong about him being attached to men, he has to have me in his view or he freaks out.

Life has been interesting and busy since we picked him up. Lots of adjusting and getting settled in. We love him though and grateful we have the opportunity to have him in our home and apart of our family for a while.
